MySpace Records Sherwood
MySpace Records’ artist Sherwood was on tour prior to the release of their album “QU”.  Looking for a new way to maximize the opportunity of touring before the official release of the album, MySpace worked with Punchmouth to increase pre-release sales.  Punchmouth leveraged its partner company, loudbytes, to create a download music button for the album.  Sherwood sold these buttons from their merch booth prior to release.  Fans were instructed to visit Sherwood’s custom redemption page on QU’s release date and enter the music download button’s redemption code and e-mail address to receive their album.  This innovative approach to selling the album offered increased pre-release sales, accumulation of e-mail addresses, branding of the album in the form of a button, and a call to action driving concert goers back online to engage the band.

MySpace Records / RCA Records Nico Vega & Inward Eye
It’s fine to distribute fliers or postcards to promote a tour, but chances are the recipients of those fliers haven’t heard the touring bands’ music yet.  Punchmouth worked with MySpace Records and RCA Records to create a more compelling means of tour promotion.  Punchmouth designed a custom promotional packaging solution that included a download card attached to a 4” x 6” postcard.  The postcard promoted the tour dates, while recipients of the promotional item could peel of the download card, visit a custom webpage, and download 1 free song from each band.  Adding media to the promotional item increase perceived value resulting in greater interest in the artists and tour.

Music Saves Lives – Warped Tour – Jack In The Box – Monster Energy
Through a partnership with Vans Warped Tour and Red Cross North America, Music Saves Lives thanks student blood donors nationwide for their blood donations by giving them a music compilation featuring bands participating in the Vans Warped Tour.

In 2008 Music Saves Lives worked with Punchmouth to create and design a custom website/platform to power the distribution of digital download cards instead of CDs.  Punchmouth customized the loudbytes platform to facilitate this need.

With the 2008 campaign a proven success, the team worked together again in 2009 to implement a second year of the program.  With a distribution of 250,000 download cards to college students, Punchmouth was able to secure Jack In The Box as a sponsor providing the back of each card as a coupon offer.  Jack In The Box worked with Punchmouth to offer each recipient of the card two free tacos at participating Jack In The Box locations.  Impressed with the redemptions of this campaign, Jack In The Box worked with Punchmouth again on another 50,000 Music Saves Lives download card compilations distributed throughout the summer Warped Tour dates.

In 2010, Punchmouth designed and created the loudbytes Single Button Blister Pack for Music Saves Lives.  This product offers the same functionality of a download card with the added value of a 1” branded button, offering MSL the opportunity to have it’s brand worn by supporters of the cause.  Impressed with this innovative product, Monster Energy Drink is the 2010 sponsor for this campaing.  To date, over 1,000,000 loudbytes/MSL download products have been distributed.  Artists featured on these download products include All American Rejects, Bad Religion, Pennywise, NOFX, Thursday, Katy Perry, and many more.  Punchmouth now handles all marketing and design needs for Music Saves Lives including branding, logo design, print advertising, product design, campaign integrations, sponsorship opportunities, and more.

Draven Shoes
Draven is seamlessly involved with music.  From the events they sponsor to the bands they support, Draven has fostered a meaningful relationship with the musician community.  To further support this effort, Draven teamed up with Punchmouth to conceive of, and design, an entirely new product.  Punchmouth created the single button download card with packaging.  Leveraging the loudbytes download code platform, this product offered a 17-song compilation download from bands Duane Peters Gunfight, The Casualties, Aiden, Zebrahead, Arch Enemy, and more.  This product instructed fans of the music and brand to visit www.draven.com to download the compilation.  Rather than hand out a CD, Punchmouth created an opportunity for fans to wear the brand as a button, drive them to the Draven website, accumulate e-mail addresses during the redemption process, and further connect the Draven to consumers.
